About this tool site
ShortForm Studio is an independent, single-owner toolkit built for people who publish short videos on TikTok, YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and Facebook Reels. It is not affiliated with any of those platforms. It is not a content site, a community, or a course platform. It is a collection of tools you open, plug three numbers into, and close.
Why these tools exist
Most creator advice lives in long YouTube videos, scattered Twitter threads and TikToks that themselves disappear. A surprising amount of that advice can be reduced to a number, a visual, or a single recommendation. We try to put those numbers and visuals at one stable URL. When we can't reduce something to a measurement, we leave it out.
The site is built and maintained by a working creator-engineer who got tired of re-doing the same aspect-ratio / LUFS / hashtag-fit spreadsheet before every client engagement. The tools on this site are the cleaned-up versions of those spreadsheets.
Who this is for
This site is for solo creators, small studios, social media managers and agencies who need a quick sanity-check before publishing. It is not for:
- People looking for editing software (use DaVinci / CapCut / Premiere / Final Cut).
- People looking for a hosted course on how to "go viral" (we don't sell courses).
- People who want to scrape algorithm secrets (we don't have any; platforms don't share them).
Known limitations
We surface these honestly because they matter:
- Algorithms change. Any "best time to post" or "engagement tier" value we show is a documented baseline from public sources, not a platform-confirmed guarantee.
- Numbers are reference, not advice. A "watch time required" number is a starting hypothesis. Your own analytics override anything here.
- Cultural bias. Most heuristics assume English-language, urban-North-American audience norms. Other audiences and languages can have different curves.
- No scraping. We don't connect to platforms. You bring the inputs; we do the math.
- Hardware differences. "Safe zones" are derived from typical UI placements. Specific Android phone models can cover slightly different areas.
Editorial standards
We don't write sponsored tool reviews; we don't run growth-hacking courses; we don't sell pop-up "free PDF" lead magnets. Each tool page includes: what it measures, how to interpret the result, what it doesn't cover, and a short FAQ. No tool is "secret": if you can reproduce the math in a spreadsheet, we publish the formula notes.
Contact
If you spot a number that's wrong or a tool that's misleading, please email hello at shortform-studio.example. We don't run a contact form because they attract spam. Replies typically arrive within a week.

What we collect (and what we don't)
This site is built to not collect personal data. Specifically:
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not ask for your email address, name, or any contact info.
- We do not run our own analytics that identify you (no Google Analytics with full IP addresses, no fingerprinting).
- We do not set any first-party tracking cookies.
Advertising & Google AdSense
This site may display ads served by Google AdSense, a third-party advertising vendor. When Google displays ads on this site, Google may use information about your visits to this site (and others) to provide advertisements about goods and services that may interest you.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You may also opt out of certain third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info.
What this means in plain English
- Google is the ad technology vendor. They - not us - decide what ads to show.
- We don't see what ads you see, we don't see if you clicked an ad, and we don't see any personal information about you from Google.
- AdSense uses cookies (small text files stored on your device) to deliver and measure ads. You can clear cookies or block them entirely via your browser settings.
- You can turn off personalised ad targeting without losing the ability to see ads (they'll just be less relevant).
Cookies in detail
Cookies used on this site, and their purposes:
- Google AdSense cookies (DART, etc.) - used by Google to deliver and measure ads, including frequency capping.
- Preferences cookie (rare, optional) - some pages may store a tiny preference flag (e.g. "you closed the menu") in localStorage so the page re-opens correctly. It does not contain any personal data and is not shared.
We do not use analytics cookies. We do not use session-replay tools. We do not embed social-media tracking pixels (Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
Your rights
Because we don't collect personal data, there's nothing stored to retrieve or delete. The European GDPR / UK GDPR / California CPRA all give you rights of access, deletion and objection. The good news: there's nothing to act on. If a regulator or you want written confirmation of what we have on you, we will reply with "no personal data has been collected from your use of this site".
Children's privacy
This site is intended for creators aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly direct advertising at children under 13. If a parent / guardian believes their child has interacted with advertising on this site in a way that concerns them, please contact us.
Changes to this policy
If we change our advertising vendors or add a new data collection (we have no plans to), we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 30 days.
Disclaimer
No professional advice
The numbers, visualisations, scores and recommendations produced by these tools are for general informational and educational purposes only. They are not, and should not be relied on as:
- Professional audio engineering advice (consult a mixing / mastering engineer for releases).
- Professional photography or cinematography advice.
- Marketing or growth advice - especially not for sponsored or paid campaigns.
- Legal advice about music licensing, copyright, or platform terms.
- Medical, financial or therapeutic advice.
Accuracy of numbers
We make a reasonable effort to keep the data behind each tool up to date. Limitations of the data:
- Algorithms drift. Posting-time windows, engagement thresholds and watch-time heuristics change frequently. The numbers here are snapshots from public sources.
- Engagement thresholds vary by niche. A "good" engagement rate for a 2-million-subscriber creator is different from a 200-subscriber creator's. Our tier tool is a rough mid-band reference.
- LUFS targets vary by region. Some platforms use true-peak in regions. We surface the dominant target only.
- Safe-zone estimates are approximations. UI overlays change with A/B tests. Re-measure before big campaigns.
- Captions are never a substitute for tests. Always validate against your own analytics.
Liability
This site and its tools are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the outputs of these tools, including but not limited to lost revenue, lost account standing, copyright strikes, or platform policy violations. If a tool tells you something that contradicts your platform's own documentation, your platform's documentation wins.
